per hour, one-on-one Books:$42
Foreign students arriving in the United States often do not have the English
skills necessary to keep up in the ground schools or to communicate clearly
with Air Traffic Control. This course provides English instruction designed
to provide the Non-English-Speaking student with the language skills required.
Addresses vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation and accent reduction. Proficiency
exam required; students not achieving the minimum required English proficiency
will be required to continue this training until minimum proficiency is
attained. Pre-requisites:None. May be challenged by demonstrating
English proficiency.

Course exercises are designed to aid the understanding, pronunciation
and accent elimination in the speech of the student. Can be taken concurrently
with English as a Second Language (ESL), above. Pre-requisites:English proficiency test for non-English
speaking countries.

instruction in the history, principles and application of Cockpit Resource
Management as applied to
multi-person crew operations in an airline, charter or flight department
environment. Principles of personality vs. attitude; hazardous attitudes;
interpersonal communications; the “Crew Concept;” synergism
in problem solving; and analysis of various actual CRM-related accidents. Pre-requisites:RA108 or permission of the Chief Pilot.
Flight training
and experience designed to bridge the gap between the minimal qualifications
of the Commercial
Pilot license and the skills expected of a professional flight officer.
Candidates will embark on a ‘road trip’ with an experienced
instructor. Flying a high-performance single-engine aircraft, they will
travel to a variety of different airports around the United States, experiencing
a wide range of terrain, traffic densities, weather, and airport environments.
All flights will be on instrument flight plans in simulated or actual
instrument conditions. Focus will be on two-pilot operations, applying
the principles of Cockpit Resource Management in a realistic environment.
Checklists, cockpit procedures and administration of the flights will
emulate those of a typical FAA Part 121 scheduled airline operation. Pre-requisites:RA501, or permission of the Chief Pilot.
Preparation for Jet Type Ratings
(RA504) Duration:1 week Pre- & Post-flight briefings: 5 hours Dual, instrument ground trainer:10 hours Tuition:$900 Other Expenses:Minimal
Prepares the candidate for operating in an IFR environment at the speeds
typical of transport-category jet aircraft. This is essential preparation
for candidates planning to obtain type ratings in jet aircraft when they
have no previous experience in high-speed aircraft. The most common reason
for failure to complete a type rating, or requiring many additional hours
of training in the jet simulator, is the inability of the candidate to
operate IFR to ATP accuracy standards at jet approach speeds of 140 to
150 knots. This course provides training in an instrument simulator specially
programmed to simulate the handling and speed characteristics of transport
category jet aircraft such as the Boeing 737. Highly recommended for candidates
who do not have jet experience but planning to get a jet type rating. Pre-requisite:Commercial Pilot-AMEL with instrument
rating. Incidental Expenses:Examiner
Fee Aircraft for Check
ride:$1000
FAA regulations require that the pilot-in-command
of turbojet aircraft, or aircraft over 12,500 pounds gross weight, have
a type rating in that make and model. This course prepares the candidate
for the FAA Practical (flight) Examination for the Cessna Citation model
500 type rating. Pre-requisites:Commercial Pilot-MEL; RA504 recommended.
